The story of Australian basketball scrapper Matthew Dellavedova is set to get the Hollywood treatment, with a movie to start production next year.
In a statement from his management said Dellavedova’s story of going from a kid in regional Victoria to an NBA champion could be compared to sporting cinema smashes like Gene Hackman’s Hoosiers and Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky.
“Delly’s inspirational story about overcoming the odds is one everyone can relate to,” manager Bruce Kaider said.
